Gaya is a unique set of original compositions by David Beebee for a nine piece band featuring some of the best young jazz musicians in London. This is their debut recording.
Gaya is inspired by India and The Himalayas and is an exploration of different musical approaches. It investigates the interaction between composition and improvisation, expanding jazz concepts to encompass a broader creative palette. The grooves and rhythms the group use are fired by diverse influences from funk to various world music styles. These pieces conjure up the feeling of travelling through new landscapes.
